NOTES: The 1968 US Mixed is a bit of an
oddity. 1968 was the year of the first US Open Championships but just before it,
in Boston, the US National Championships were also held, open to amateurs and
registered professionals (i.e. pros who were independant and not contracted to
the promoters).
The US Open at Forest Hills had no mixed doubles event but the Nationals did and
that is it.
